Mi Ranchito is a family-run Mexican eatery, serving up plenty of great authentic dishes. The Pork Carnitas are fantastic, along with the Pollo Yucatan and Guadalajara Special. If it’s your first visit, try the Grande Special – it’ll give you a great sample of what Mi Ranchito is all about.

4. La Vallesana

From the fresh pickled vegetables on the tables to the speedy service, there’s a lot to love about La Vallesana. The food ranges from Tex-Mex to traditional Mexican, and it’s imperative that you try the Al Pastor and Salsa Verde. They even have Guanabana flavored Margaritas – a personal favorite of mine.

3. Mariachi’s II

First of all, let’s just make clear that the Cadillac Margarita is essential if you’re visiting Mariachi’s. The value is fantastic, you’re definitely going to be leaving full if you order a Burrito – we love the Fajita Burrito in particular. Good service, good drinks, and good food – three reasons to visit.

2. Taqueria El Bronco

You can’t go wrong at Taqueria El Bronco. The Huevos Con Chorizo, Enchiladas Supremas, Chiles Rellenos, and Fish Tacos are stand-outs. The Sope Al Pastor is another menu item someone in your group needs to order – there are a lot of dishes to try at El Bronco.

1. Taqueria Durango

If you’re from out of town, you’ll be visiting Taqueria Durango every time you come to St. Louis. If you’re a local, you’ll be visiting almost too much. Their Al Pastor, Carnitas, and Barbacoa Tacos are amazing, and the homemade salsas have a serious kick (especially the Salsa Verde). Be warned: the Burritos are mega-sized, so come with an empty stomach!
