If you’re visiting San Antonio and don’t want to break the bank, there are plenty of great restaurants you can check out. We’ve put together a list of our favorite restaurants in the San Antonio area where you can get a fantastic meal for under $15. These great options range from Mexican joints to delicious delis, but they all have two things in common: great food, and great prices.
7. El Mirador
The lunch specials at El Mirador are fantastic, we highly recommend stopping by on a Tuesday to try their Milanesa. Other great options include the Sopa Azteca special on Saturdays, or the Carne Guisada (lean beef tips, Mexican rice and refried beans). If you’re in town visiting, El Mirador will give you a good feel for the flavors of the city.
Annnnnnd you instantly got hungry! We know and we can fix that! Make your Friday better with our ‘Ragout of Braised Spring Lamb’ garganelli pasta, spring peas, roasted artichokes, roasted cherry tomatoes. #getchasome #weekendmode #aintnothinglikeit

The restaurant is a bit pricier than others on this list in the evening, however if you want to sample some of their great food at a cheaper price, lunch is the time to go. Everyday Lüke has a few lunch specials for $10, and they’re all delicious. The red beans and rice with pork schnitzel on Mondays is a great option. If you are going to spend a bit more at Lüke and want to try their dinner menu we have just three words for you: shrimp and grits.
5. Taco Taco
When visiting San Antonio, you MUST try breakfast tacos while you’re in town – and Taco Taco does them right. The Chorizo & Egg, Chilaquiles Taco, and Bacon and Egg are all superb, but if you’re looking for something really out of this world, you have to try the Barbacoa Taco. It’s only served on Saturday & Sunday, but it’s totally worth your weekend dollars.
4. La Fruteria

For breakfast and lunch, enjoy fresh juices, fruit cups, tortas, and tostadas. In the evening, you’ll love the botana-syle Mexican tapas and fruit-infused tequilas and cocktails. La Fruteria has a very cool vibe, try the Chilaquiles con Pollo at brunch and don’t miss one of their amazing cocktails and agua frescas – all made with their in-house fresh juices.
3. WD Deli
WD Deli on Broadway is another great place for lunch, with fantastic soups, salads, and sandwiches. Their specialty sandwiches are worth the visit. For under $10 you can try their Chicken Chipotle Parmesan or Italian Panini – both are sure to hit the spot. If you’ve been to WD Deli and are looking for new options, we also love Mike’s Salad and all of their baked goods, obviously.
2. The Cove

The Cove is a quirky venue with organic American fare, live music, a laundromat, and a carwash. Yes, you read that right. They’re serving up sustainable, organic, local food, with a beer garden featuring over 50 Texas beers on-tap. Their burgers are as unique as they are delicious – you’ll want to try them all.
1. The Luxury
The Luxury is an offbeat counter-serve kitchen & bar for big plates of great food. The funky outdoor environment is something you’ll fall in love with right away. It’s super laid back, featuring a good selection of beer and an interesting menu. Try the Crispy Fish Bahn Mi, and you won’t leave disappointed.
