The farm-to-table movement that is so popular in Portland will win you over at hotspot Simpatica. The set-price menu changes daily, but past dishes have included chicken and waffles with a green tomato syrup, classic eggs benedict, french toast with rhubarb syrup, and a creamed kale tart.

7. Root & Bone – New York City, New York

Root & Bone, located in New York City, takes Southern food to another level. Their brunch menu features four different kinds of biscuits, drunken devilled eggs, braised short rib meat loaf, a mushroom and ricotta sandwich, and their signature bourbon cured bacon. Be sure to also check out their cocktail menu.

6. One Eared Stag – Atlanta, Georgia

In Atlanta, you’ll find an eccentric spot called One Eared Stag. Not only do they have exposed brick walls with animal heads proudly mounted but their menu is also completely original. The chef’s breakfast is four small and ever-changing portions that are whipped up daily by the chef depending on his mood and what’s in the kitchen.

5. Creperie Beau Monde – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Beau Monde is serving up French food not normally expected for a small restaurant in Philadelphia, but is being well received by locals and tourists alike. They’re definitely doing something right. Their menu features sweet and savory crepes along with appetizers, salads, and soups.
